PM says govt to support regions failing to fulfill budgets
MOSCOW, Nov 19 (PRIME) -- The government will continue to support Russia’s regions that have difficulties with their budgets, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin told the government on Thursday.
“In the present situation, many regions have difficulties with budget execution. The government will keep on supporting the subjects of the Russian Federation,” he said.
Mishustin also said that many small and medium-size business enterprises have not recovered fully, and tax and non-tax collection to regional budgets has decreased.
“To ensure their stability, we have already sent more than 200 billion rubles. Today, we will allocate another 80 billion rubles to compensate the budgets’ lost incomes. The funds will be received by 39 subjects of the Russian Federation,” he said.
The prime minister also said that additional funds for medicines were allocated to the regions, and now the government will control their proper spending.
He also said that the Industry and Trade Ministry should instantly increase production of drugs in high demand and ensure seamless supplies of necessary medicines to people who treat themselves at home.
The government will introduce a new procedure for sickness payments and maternity benefits, which will be allocate to the people directly from the social insurance fund, but not through employers from 2022, Mishustin said.
